I am a dual citizen of both the US and Canada. I have homes in both countries On in BC the other in Mesa Az. ( More commonly known to foreigners as part of Phoenix) I now dwell approx. 50 % +- in either country. While BC medical is great while in Canada. It does no good for the other six months outside of the country. For that I have to purchase private medical insurance which I do.

It is actually cheaper to purchase private coverage on a yearly program than to buy travel insurance. Also when purchased yearly if you get stuck on a Canadian waiting list and you don't want to wait forever. it gives the option of crossing south of the border for quicker treatment.

Another thing that brings down premium price with a private insurer is if they know you are covered while in Canada for normal doctor or emergency services.

As far as the 5% factor for someone in a heavy equipment business. Here is a sample last years hourly rates for equipment. We charged similar prices when working oil fields and for CN Rail or Government contracts on power lines. Forestry work was Approx. 10 to 15% less. We operated in the Provinces of Alberta and BC and were successful in bidding a few of jobs in Washington state.

You will see in the operator rate structure what operators and supervisors got for wages or salaries. If you have not bettered your self in training to qualify for some of these jobs or to start your own enterprise, it is nobody's fault but your own.
All it takes is applying one's self with a little ambition and dedication, Plus a whole lot of long hours, missed weekends, and hard work Having a Socialist attitude only gets in the way. It destroys the free enterprise mindset ?

To anyone who tells me it can't done, I ask:
How many times have you tried, ?
If you have not, Why not ?
If you did and failed , Did you try again ? Why Not ?
What are your life time goal ?
How can you accomplish it by doing nothing ?
What is the biggest force that drives you ?
Do you think you are inferior to others ?
Are you afraid to fail ? Is that what is holding you back ?
Why are you afraid is it that others may laugh if you do not succeed ?
Do you suffer from peer pressure allowing others to manipulate your thinking to please themselves ?

There are other concerns that hold people back. But seldom do I ever get past the first four questions before they have provided the answer as to why they are jealous of those who make something out of life. Most have never tried.

Life is a game is in on. Money is the score board on how well they play. Without money you cannot be truly generous in today's world. You can only think so in your own mind.
