Sony HiFi is perfect for today's low-priced machines. There are only two bays in these machines. One bay is for CD (or DVD), and where the floppy went will now go the Sony HiFi. You don't have to lose compatibility with standard 1.44MB floppies. Most people still use floppies because they don't require anything bigger (especially those buying the lower priced models), and the discs are cheap cheap cheap.

The difference between LS-120 And Sony HiFi? Well, aside from the obvious capacity difference, the Ls-120's reputation for sloth has thwarted any attempt to move it in great numbers. It has also has poor marketing. You can bet Sony will be MUCH better, especially in the marketing department.
