I think this is part of the changing retail trend for companies in expanding their online businesses. ANF is still a very established and recognizable premium brand. I think the online business will be also. IMO Any success of the online business might lead to smaller size ANF stores at malls. This when leases expire or are up for renewal.
FWIW I think buying the online experience in clothing might get tired after a few years. One big mall in are area is already making the transition of converting exited space into offering a outlet section. In no way do I see ANF going this route. If a progressing earnings rebound at ANF doesn't materialize. I think a dividend cut could be possible . However it was nice to see the news today that they were taking action in the online buying trend. IMO any signs of it sales bottoming will boost the stock. Mens Warehouse has already left the mall out our way years ago. I presume to save on better leasing terms from the J. Banks consolidation . TJX/Marshalls has seemed to whether this retail storm quite well in strip mall stores.
