In theory yes, but they had no clue "how to run an highly efficient campaign playing the media", in stead of throwing their - rather limited compared to the Hillary, the Clintons and their donors - money to the media for paid advertising.

That's how Trump won the nomination again your 'truly republican' alternative candidates, and that is exactly the very way he won the election against the clan of the Hillaries Clintons.
