IMO no discussion of Carter Page is complete without mention that he was identified as MALE1 in FBI documents presented during the trial and conviction of Evgeny Buryakov for espionage. Buryakov was a Russian spy working under cover as an employee of a Russian bank in NYC. Vnesheconombank, owned by the Russian government and run by a former KGB officer, is the same bank the Russian ambassador set up a meeting with for Jared Kushner in January.

When Buryakov was arrested (January 2015), two other Russian spies he'd been working with were expelled. Unlike Buryakov they were diplomats and couldn't be indicted. Buryakov was released early last week and sent back to Russia. I can't help but wonder if the reason was to keep his mouth shut.

Page was seen meeting with and giving documents to the Russian spies (this was in 2013), but wasn't convicted because he had no classified information. Just general energy industry knowledge. Worthless info iow. I can understand Page being surveilled as he had displayed a history of sharing information with foreign spies. Should he be associated with a Presidential candidate and get information from that source, he should be suspected of being willing to supply it to Russians.
