Karl: There are other reasons why companies may not want to announce or support Y2K problems as a big issue. One is call competition. If my company doing Y2K fixes realizes how big this is, why do I want to advice my competition that they better fix their systems? I would be very happy if they fail and I increase my market because I already fixed mine. A few years back, I was able to list examples of Y2K problems for specific products, since 1997, Those vendors have identified such information as proprietary. GQ
