I never took the Bible seriously because I felt it represented the views of Mathew, John, Paul, Isiah, etc. And I always thought the point to being religious is to stake out one's own relationship to G-d. Maybe I have it all wrong, but that's how I have lived my life. It is hard enough sometimes trying to figure what is being said in the call or dialogue with Adonai (My G-d), but accepting another person's interpretation becomes almost impossible for me and borders on dogmatism. From the standpoint of revealed religion, I suppose I just don't get it. What matters to me is my own individual relation.
