As an STS shareholder frustrated by the state of this company and their latest shift in focus,
I thought you all might find this AMZ press release of concern.
Why should the Congo be a more stable place to operate than Angola ?

The Wall Street Journal reports in its Monday edition that the future of private investment in
the Democratic Republic of the Congo was thrown into doubt after a disclosure by
Congolese authorities on Saturday that it would "re-examine" the terms of a second copper
mining project. Reporter Robert Block says that hard on the heels of its decision last week
to cancel a mining deal with America Mineral Fields, Congo disclosed it would review the
Tenke-Fungurume project headed by Tenke Mining. According to investment bankers and
mining industry people, the moves will probably lead banks and investment houses to
reconsider financing mining projects in Congo, which in turn could doom the country's
efforts to rebuild. When a deal is not a deal and a government starts pulling stunts like this,
it is serious, according to a senior investment banker in South Africa, where many of the
mining projects for Congo are financed.
