This took place on the dinghy dock where boat owners, who are moored in the harbor, tie up their dinghies. The woman with the pit bulls was coming up the ramp when the man with the little dog was coming down the ramp. The pit bulls attacked the little dog and his owner tried to save him and got attacked himself.

You can't see it on the video, but his arm, shoulder and hands were also shredded.

The pits also attacked their owner.

Catalina has strict leash and muzzle laws, which everyone who owns a dog is aware of. The signs are posted everywhere. Dogs have to have a muzzle on if they're on any of the piers or docks, or on the Express boats that go back and forth between the mainland and the island.

Only one of her dogs was on a leash and neither had a muzzle on - but neither did the little dog, who was on a leash. The one off the leash attacked the little dog and the other one joined in.
