I am all for looking at the big picture, let's take a brief look at the history of the United States.

Educated English and Europeans arrive and wipe out most of the indigenous population. Vast forests are cleared and slaves imported by these educated folks to help eliminate virtually all of the old growth timber and driving several species to extinction.

Let's fast forward to the 20th Century. Monstrosities such as Boulder dam and Grand Coulee dam are built destroying vast ecosystems so that the educated humans can have cheap electricity and lakes to use their speed boats. The atmosphere and oceans start to be poisoned by carbon dioxide, nitrates, pesticides, and thousands of other chemicals invented by the exceptionally well educated.

Now looking world-wide, nuclear, biological, chemical and other weapons are invented by the well educated enabling the potential to wipe out all life on Earth as we know it.

Moving to the 21st Century human population growth is driving the largest extinction event in the history of the planet.

Education sure is great.
