17%. I thought it was a response rate of 44% v. 25% for placebo which isn't a big improvement. Regardless of the placebo response, it means that even in the controlled environment of a study less than half the patients got the desired result. Somehow the studies by academics always show better results than we poor slobs out in the trenches get with our patients so I would predict that about a third would respond. That means two thirds are going to waste their time and money. I would like to see better odds since I am the guy who has to deal face to face with the patient.
