What you say is absolutely true and there is slim chance that Fan's attitude will ever change. Dr. Fan has a lifetime sinecure at Kopin and has convinced himself that he deserves it. He pays lip service to building a real business, but is not driven to do it; he does too well for himself as things are. He is not a 'stemwinder' capable of kicking this business into gear; more like a variety of grifter. Unfortunately, he has inculcated the same attitude in several of his underlings and they are now equally useless. An interesting paradox is that aligning himself with shareholders would have brought much greater rewards, first and foremost to himself. I didn't mean to recommend purchase of the stock - as I said, I hold it in a basket of poorly-managed microdisplay companies. I only hold them as an option on something unexpected happening.
