I'm surprised there hasn't been follow up comments about the password post. I read most of the entries from the link you posted and didn't find any that offered the simplest solution. I don't like password managers after fighting with one a couple years ago. I saw a solution posted here (or maybe on another board here on SI). I won't bore anyone with it right here, but I'd gladly share the idea if there's interest.
