I agree with you on the IRA answer. I had my CPA look at the trading status issue ... his interpretation was that the percentage of assets in long-term investments is important... so much so that it doesn't matter how much you trade with your trading portfolio. This doesn't seem reasonable to me but I don't have the refutation yet.
