The intersection of science and religion is the subject of "cause and effect". The core of Einstein's Relativity in the physics realm concludes that in our universe cause must come BEFORE effect. That is to say, that nothing happens in response to an event that hasn't happened yet. The effect may have a random component, but the event cannot happen at all without a cause. In religion there is often a notion of an effect without a physical cause, i.e. a miracle. Physics as we know it doesn't work if miracles are possible. This is why so many scientists don't even consider the notion of a God with supernatural powers.
