Strategic Alliances (Japan)
In Japan, we sought to expand our technological capabilities, and secure a strong presence in this strategic market. To compliment the efforts of Dr. Kubata, who has been heading off MLSC's Scientific Research and Development program in Japan, I wanted to access the technology and expertise which has been developed in Japan in the field of "function water."
During my recent trip to Japan, I was fortunate to meet Dr. Osao Sumita, Ph.D., president of Coherant Technology Co., Ltd, a Tokyo based research and development company. Dr. Sumita has been actively involved in the field of electrically hydrolizd saline solutions for over ten years, and his company has developed and commercialized several innovative "functional water" systems. Under the direction and innovation of Dr. Sumita, Coherant Technology has developed several "function water" systems which produce a variety of "functional waters." Of special interest is the proprietary method which Dr. Sumita has developed for "continuous flow" technology. This system is being used in several applications in the agriculture and fertilization industry in Japan with impressive success.
I am pleased to announce that Coherent Technology has agreed to engage in a strategic alliance with Medical Discoveries, Inc. for the purpose of furthering both our technological requirements, and also to assist MDI in entering additional markets both here and abroad. I will be meeting with Dr. Sumita in December to finalize our alliance, and will report to the the specifics at a later date.
These new developments in corporate growth and expansion bring critical mass to MDI, infuse our operations with tremendous expertise and insight, and will enable MDI to quickly enter revenue producing markets in the near term. Additionally, these revenue producing opportunities will provide MDI a basis by which we can continue and complete our activites in the medical sterilization and therapeutic treatment areas.
Marketing expert joins Medical Discoveries
As you can gather from the above information, MDI is rapidly evolving into an exciting "world class" corporation. As we prepare to enter new markets with new technologies, we need strong marketing expertise in order for us to quickly and efficiently achieve a position of leadership. We are indeed fortunate to have identified an individual
who combines a strong scientific and engineering background with over 20 years of demonstrated success in consumer and cosmetics products marketing to assist in MDI's entry into these areas of opportunity.
It is a great pleasure to announce that Dr. Agostino Vittadini has agreed to join MDI as Director of Market Development, and will serve on MDI's board of directors. Dr. Vittadini brings a rare combination of diverse talents to this critically important position. Agostino's training in engineering enables him to easily understand and assimilate the technical intricacies of electrolysis and "function water", and his vast experience and success in marketing products in the cosmetics and consumer products industries has enabled him to develope new markets and marketing strategies in these areas. This powerful combination of training, talent and experience will serve MDI well as we prepare to enter the non-medical markets our new technologies and strategic alliances now offer. |
