But what are the REALISTIC expectations today?

1. In a nightmare scenario for the establishment, everyone has polled this wrong, and Marine Le Pen creeps in by a percentage point or two. It's highly unlikely, but don't underestimate the hubris of the establishment in getting this wrong (read: Brexit, Trump).

2. More likely is that Macron wins with a lesser percentage gap than they expected. People are claiming 20-23%, but if he finishes anywhere between 1-15%, this is a blow for his people and supporters.

3. Finally, maybe he does smash her by 20%+. This would perhaps lead to new FN leadership, and would be a major blow to the anti-establishment movement the world over. This is FN supporters' most scary scenario. Can they come back from this? Obviously. How long would it take though? Unclear.
