I am not a CDPD expert but my understanding is that it is sending digital signals over modified analog systems. It is not a true digital system and, to my knowledge, is not being expanded further than it's present coverage. That coverage is extensive. But you can see the argument that can be made by resellers of gear produced by more highly capitalized digital wireless equipment resellers: "why fool with this micky mouse old technology while full digital is clearly the going thing".

I had heard projections that USWDA expected to place about 100,000 Tranz Enablers by the end of '98. As of the last conference call it appears that they have only placed a few hundred and they have failed to sign up any of the numberous wireless carriers. They aren't going to be able to come cloe to their numbers the way they are going. I would be pleased for them to say that they have placed just a few thousand units, at leasst that would indicate that momentum is building. As time goes on without the signing of a major contract, this company is getting more, not less risky.

I am out of USWDA and am waiting for it to drop down to around 4-4 1/2 before I get back in or until they begin following through on their plans to acquire new business.
