Thanks for posting the article.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., Vail acquired Stowe in February, which brought Vail's low Epic Pass prices to Vermont.

Shortly thereafter, Sugarbush joined the Mountain Collective and lowered prices dramatically for its 2017/2018 season passes. Following the lead of Stowe and Sugarbush, other resorts in the Northeast also lowered their next-season pass prices.

To make things sweeter, at some resorts in the NE, early 2017/2018 season pass purchasers were also able to use their next-season passes to enjoy the epic snow from mid-March through April 2017. As a result, skier visits in late March through mid-April appear to have been off the charts.

Who knows what these resort alliances and pass pricing competition will bring as the resorts continue to juggle pass (and perhaps even day ticket?) pricing in this newly-competitive environment? It can only be great news for skiers.
