the president announced he planned to nominate Robert Powelson and Neil Chatterjee for Ferc terms ending in 2020 and 2021, respectively, giving the agency a quorum.

If you want to blame someone for the delay, blame the Senate for not confirming appointees in a timely manner.

Quite frankly, your Trump bashing seems to be a rather severe case of throwing out the baby with the baby water. I'm not on board with all of his positions, but he's a damn sight better than the alternative. He is, in fact, the best friend that sensible energy development could have, which seems to be a major concern of yours (it is of mine as well).

You can't always get what you want, in politics or anything else, but cutting off your nose to spite your face isn't the wisest choice to make..
