India’s solar auction breached INR 2.50 per kWh 14.05.2017: Solar tariff in India has now breached INR 2.50 ($0.038) per kWh mark. Within a week solar tariff declined from INR 2.62 ($0.0405) per kWh to INR 2.44 ($0.037) per kWh, according to US consultancy Mercom Capital Group. In the 500 MW Bhadla Phase-III Solar Park auction in the state of Rajasthan, ACME quoted a tariff of INR 2.44 ($0.037) per kWh, which is almost 6.9 percent lower than the previous low tariff quoted in the Bhadla Phase-IV Solar Park auction of INR 2.62 ($0.0405) per kWh. The tariffs quoted ranged between a high of INR 3.18 ($0.049) per kWh and a low of INR 2.44 ($0.037) per kWh, said Mercom. Ten developers quoted tariffs below INR 3 ($0.046) per kWh. ACME won bid to develop 200 MW solar by quoting a tariff of INR 2.44 ($0.037) per kWh and SBG Cleantech won bid to develop 300 MW by quoting a tariff of INR 2.45 ($0.038) per kWh.
