I sincerely hope that you are not laboring under a delusion that the woefully obsolete and ineffective (in today's era) free version of 'Microsoft Security Essentials' is affording you much of any malware protection on your technologically obsolete XP system.

If there is any software or data on that system that you consider to be of some value I'd suggest backing it up to a device that is newer than the XP box which owes you nothing.

You should be aware that while considered to be a somewhat functional but rather mediocre security product when released it late 2008 Microsoft Security Essentials secured AV-TEST certification in October 2009 but lost it in 2012 because it had demonstrated a constant decline in protection and repair scores. Today it is truly as close to worthless a product as one can find. You are protected from only a small fraction of the malware that is biting individuals today.
