Zeev, I totally agree with your scenario. Unlike previous selloffs in '95 and '96 (the only time I've followed the market) we haven't sprung right back up. We are going down in stages, perhaps like the 73-73 bear market. Hi-techs in general are probably overcompetitive across the board, from networking to chips to disk drives to you name it. If Korea expires, that will help things gradually recover, but it will take time. I don't think we will see the kind of valuations on the semi-equipment suppliers that we saw this summer anytime this century.

Since we agree the next move is down, how are you playing it, Zeev? Are you shorting any stocks here or buying puts or just waiting, cash in hand? I'm doing all three, but I mainly sold my puts in Dec for a nice profit, so I'm looking for some new juicy shorts. I was thinking nvls may be a good short here, maybe. I was hoping for a little more fervent rally but I think all these earnings warnings are having a debilitating effect on the hypesters and we may not get much of a rally before the next downturn.
