I haven't followed his situation closely, but I've never been aware of him lying. That's not to say he hasn't, only that I'm not aware of it.

I have no idea how you know that. I don't even know what that is. When someone gets murdered, the point of the investigation is to determined if a crime was committed, if so, who did it and why.

Until you figure out who did it, the most you can do is to guess at whether it is "ordinary street crime" or if someone was targeted, whatever. It really could be anything at this point, from the limited information available.
