< I campaigned for Mondale/Ferraro ages and ages ago.> We must've been part of the select few that voted for them (I'm originally a Minnesotan...doncha' know) I hadn't heard the quote you gave...but just before the last election a group of us were having a nice conversation. One of the women was sharring her observations about the parties, etc. ( in obvious Democratic tones)...after she finished her husband wrly said "she's a true blue Democrat who loves living the life of a Republican." My political tendancies are very much like yours, although, lately I find myself identifying with the Republican platform (then again..it appears a number of the Democrats do too.) It all becomes so convoluted ( my guess is by design) that it takes more resources than ever to really "nail down" individual politicians..never mind an entire party. T.R.
