When in the 8th grade, as school was getting out, teachers thought it prudent to move students to the front porch of the school as parents were driving through to pick us up. Meanwhile, a substantial tornado tore through the front law of the school -- a football-field sized area full of huge, old oak trees. Many of us stood on that porch and watched as massive oak trees were uprooted before our eyes. Never forgot that sight. It moved across the town to the area where I lived taking houses with it all the way. Missed our house but got the church across the street.
