Joe,

An update on the "dog and cat" news if you can stand it! The implanting of chips in dogs and cats was a major news item on the 6 o'clock news last nite in LA. It pointed out that 60,000 animals a year had to be destroyed each year because they could not find the owners. So far most everyone thinks it is a good idea to implant these chips. The cost of the chip implant is expected to add about $15 to the "cost" of the animal.

Then to top it off, it was endorsed by an L. A. Times editorial in the paper today.
