Re H&Q telecommunications report FWIW first couple of paras from report. Havent seen full report hoping to very soon will let you know anything of int. For the December 1997 quarter we are expecting the companies within the H&Q Telecommunications Equipment/Technologies and Telecommunications Services universes to report strong earnings, with the vast majority of companies either meeting or beating estimates. While we believe results within the equipment/technologies sector will be strong on an overall basis, we believe that upsides will be much more moderate than those we have seen in past periods. We are expecting quite a different reporting period relative to the telecommunications services companies that we are currently tracking at H&Q. Our emphasis within the telecommunications services business is to track the fast-growing set of innovative carriers, particularly those with strong services and technological niches. We are expecting this group of companies to report very strong revenue growth and strong earnings. However, we expect many of these companies to spend their upside on further build-out of network capabilities, rather than dropping the upsides directly to the bottom lines.
