What a great report for the semi area.
Quarterly billings of US$13.1 billion also represent the first time quarterly billings exceeded the record quarterly high set in the third quarter of 2000. Billings for the most recent quarter are 14 percent higher than the fourth quarter of 2016 and 58 percent higher than the same quarter a year ago.

The SOX has really been on a solid sharp uptrend since the beginning of CY2016. The index is fast approaching the highs set in March 2000. Already in June the closing high is 1112 which is only 70 points less than the 1182 for March 2000. The SEMI report just released should provide further fuel to continue the SOX uptrend. Caveat as always, if the economy for some reason goes "off the rails" all bets are off, but at the moment that does not seem to be in the "cards".
