All, spoke to company about the press release. Here's what it means.
UUNET will host Franklin's DVG Tempest's in a rapid deployment not only domestically but also worldwide. It gives Franklin tremendous leverage in leapfrogging the competition and it also bypasses a lot of red tape regarding tariffs.
I was told that Franklin has to be careful regarding any forward looking statements as there are ongoing negotiations not only with Worldcom but also others. That is about all they would comment on other than to say that there will be more details to follow.
They did state that they were elated with the agreement and that it had been two months of daily hammering, point by point. I took that to mean that there is a lot more to this then what meets the eye.
This to me is one more validation of Franklin's credibility, viability, and determination. FNET is not a dream, it's a reality.
This now brings up another point, and that is, the IPO of FNET and it's ensuing leverage on the price of Franklin shareholders stock value. There is no doubt in my opinion, that Frank is going to deliver on his promise of creating a world class telecommunications company, one that Franklin will alxo supply equipment to. Sounds like ATT & Western Electric?
Now if this isn't positive news, nothing is.
Look for the 3 day rule to apply. The ramifcations of this announcement will take a few days to be digested, and I'm sure we will be cross referenced with WCOM news, so hang on Sloopy.
