Here is whats what.

Spoofs do not work if there is sufficient demand to oppose the spoof
Spoofs do not work if there is sufficient supply to oppose the spoof.

Spoofs only work if there is an imbalance of supply vs demand, creating more supply gives the illusion of a "further" imbalance. Creating more demand gives the "illusion of a further imbalance".

Blaming spoofs for share movement one way or the other is admitting that the supply and demand condition in its quiescent state is also equally unbalanced.
