Daughter took it into the Apple Store, they identified it as a failed graphics card, it's now one of their vintage computers and they do not do repairs. Considering the new Macs just came out this week, it looks like she's opting for a new MacBook Pro. We will recover the 1 TB SSD I put in in January.
