6/9/2017 Contest update Nothing much exciting in the news this week. ;-) Meanwhile, for reasons unclear, tech stocks including biotechs were hit with a wave of selling Friday afternoon giving up the week’s gains. And, at Friday’s close, the Contest median was up 12.79% YTD (vs. up 13.77% YTD a week ago), the Nasdaq Biotech Index (NBI) was up 10.94% YTD (vs. up 11.69% YTD a week ago) and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index (SPSIBI) was up 20.62% YTD (vs. up 20.21% YTD a week ago). The Nasdaq Composite Index (NCI) closed up 15.32% YTD (vs. up 17.14% YTD a week ago). TOMP’s portfolio, up 55.51% YTD, took back the Contest lead as HRS’s portfolio, up 52.94% YTD, fell to second place and ROBO’s portfolio, up 48.18% YTD, remained in third place. All three portfolios were hurt by a double-digit TGTX drop for the week. At Friday's close, 42 of the 48 Contest portfolios were in the green, with 27 beating the NBI and 14 beating the SPSIBI. The 195 Contest portfolio stock picks have an average YTD gain of 10.71% and a median YTD gain of 4.29%, with 106 of the 195 picks up for the year. Below is the Top Ten list. Also below are the Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks for the week ranked by % Gained and % Lost YTD. (Prices not converted to US$ in these Tables.) Portfolio adjustments: CTIX (Cellceutix) symbol and name change to IPIX (Innovation Pharmaceuticals). (All corrections, especially adjustments for splits, greatly appreciated.) Enjoy a safe and relaxing weekend biotechies! Peace & good health, Bulba P.S. I’ll be out-of -town for a few days, so no Contest update next week.
