I know I am going to regret this, but I can't let a comment like that go by. Pete Schleider is one of the smartest, most respected, and most powerful analysts in the EDA industry. As some of you may know from other threads, I am not used to defending IBankers, but personal attacks like the above cross over the line, IMHO. You should be pleased that someone is taking the time to put out the kind of detailed info on the company to help gaurd against a mistake. When I'm short a stock, I look for all the info I can find that indicates I could be wrong, not for info confirming that I'm right.
I don't have a position here (or in Cadence), but I believe there is more to the issues than the black-and-white view prevalent on this thread. That being said, the stakes are clearly huge-those with long memories may remember the IBM/Cybernex trade secrets dispute, which did result in the Cybernex equity being wiped out and the founders being enjoined from working in the industry for life. |
