I am against killing people, whether the govt or individual does it. However, it is known
that perpetrators of mass shootings usually do not have their heads in place, not enough for insanity defense to be successful. This does not apply to serial killers.
I think Christian Old Testament is a version of Hebrew Bible, so killing is a deadly sin.
I am against death penalty, and the govt. that does it is very uncivilized. Ditto sanctioned killings.
All major mental illnesses.work the same way, be it an episode of major depression,
Bipolar mixed mania, or schizophrenic episode. They usually get suicidal, but can get
homicidal ideations. In the latter case, and with access to guns, they go kill. Usually
Mass murderer suffer from major depression, although some are paranoid schizophrenics or bipolar.

Terrorist attacks are a different matter.

Usually mass murderers have an episode of major mental illness that goes untreated.
That does not mean they don't know right from wrong or the nature and quality of their act. By far most popular illness to cause mass murders is major depression.
Most mass murderers die in the attack.

So? I think easy access to guns is to blame. People with mental illnesses should not be anywhere near a gun, and banning guns in general is a good idea.
