Chan: It might be a nice idea to give each participant $500,000 to invest in the market after TAOTL, so maximum use could be made of the lessons learned. I found that I was limited in the number of systems I could subject to real-life market tests last year (and I confess that I'm even more limited now). The money could be raised through the shrewd use of trading systems presented last year -- BNS, for example. I personally think the money should be presented at the end of the gathering, so that people wouldn't be tempted to squander it in Cleveland or on convention pleasures such as pizza and soda.
Also, I suggest that we have tables filled with free copies of Advanced Get and MSWIN, to foster an atmosphere of generosity and congeniality. Such freebies might induce people to divulge their secret systems. I know for a fact that some participants kept their prized systems to themselves last year (I was involved in one embarrassing incident in which two traders ambushed me in a corridor and tried to wrest a Bollinger band system from my hands -- they succeeded, but I'm pleased to report that the system was flawed). Other programs, such as TechniFilter Plus and Omega TradeStation, could be offered as extra inducements. The more the merrier. Perhaps free subscriptions to certain popular newsletters could be handed out, too.
For those reluctant to take advantage of such gifts, there could be free champagne to loosen them up.
These are only ideas, mind you. They certainly deserve more discussion.
