Mike, there is a new player in the mix. Nintendo just launched the
Nintendo 64 player for Xmas. This is a great machine that I saw
previewed my last trip to Boston. It has just sold 300,000 units in
Japan and may be a runaway hit this winter for the home market in this
market as well. They are pitching this unit as a great 3D computer
graphics computer comparable with Silicon Graphics for a fraction
of the price ($299 give or take). My queries are as follows:

a. This will divert attention away from the true PC as a home product
this Xmas. What impact remains to be seen here?
b. How can we take advantage of this play? (is Nintendo public? buy
consumer electronic retailers?)
c. I agree that Nintendo and others can turn game players into
Internet devices. What is the potential impact here?
This boxmaker industry is starting to look really interesting.
