Texas has a lot of wind resources as does the rest of the midwest that is going to waste. Clean, sustainable energy that could power the entire central portion of the country. Storage will eventually replace all fossil fueled backup. Storage can respond much, much faster than fossil fueled sources of generation. In literally milliseconds. That's impossible for fossil fueled generation which take many seconds to minutes to respond to load changes. But the real big bonus is... Zero pollution!
