Sen. Bernie Sanders, an independent from Vermont, said Democrats would work nonstop to make sure the Republican health-care bill would never see the light of day.

In a speech on the Senate floor, Sanders said Republican senators “should be embarrassed” by the secretive process to come up with a replacement for Obamacare, writes the Hill. Sanders spoke as Senate Democrats vowed to fight the measure and took turns criticizing the closed-door process. Republicans are planning to force a vote on legislation as soon as next week before Congress breaks for the July 4 holiday. There is little Democrats can do alone, but Sen. Richard Durbin, a Democrat from Illinois, said on MSNBC that only three Republicans could stop the rush to pass legislation.
