I called in that I wouldn't be able to make it. Actually let them know the day before, but got fired anyway.
At 17, I got fired from an ice cream parlor because I couldn't get home from a visit to Catalina Island. I also called to let them know but got fired anyway.

I don't think I've seen any teenagers mowing lawns around here and there aren't enough people subscribing to papers to justify a kid on a bike. The papers are delivered by people driving cars, or you can pick one up at the corner market.
