Thanks Jim. Compaq and Dell have been going at each other
for quite some time now. Business is war. Eckhard's
continued frustration with Dell says to me that Dell is
still gaining market share.

Trying to communicate a visoin to 400 channel partners will
be very difficult. Once the message sinks in... how long
does it take to change or update the message as business
fundamentals change? Being crippled by this in a business
changing as rapidly as the PC industry is one of the
dis-advantages of the non-direct model, one that Dell
continues to exploit. The whole issue of consistency
of service and quality for Compaq customers remains a question
mark in my mind.
