Thanks Josh. I understand, but can see it is not straight forward or even easy. Windows or Chrome have to come up with a better solution I think as most people simply allow updates, especially if it looks like it is initiated by Windows or Chrome.

I can see some advantage in not allowing automatic updates, as it gives one a bit of a pause to think about it, and perhaps examine the path as you described.
