Huawei opens International Center for High Performance Computing

Huawei in the framework of the International Conference on Supercomputing 2017 ISC (International Supercomputing Conference) announced the establishment of the International Center for High Performance Computing (HPC). The center will be located in the Open Lab in Munich and will enable Huawei and its partners to optimize the process of improving the platform for the joint development of industry solutions in high-performance computing segments, cloud computing and artificial intelligence, thus speeding up the transformation of the industry.
At the opening ceremony of the center was attended by representatives from Intel, one of the key partners of Huawei in the field of high performance computing. Huawei and Intel solemnly pledged to develop computational technologies and products, and provide customers with the latest HPC-solutions and services.
«Huawei has positioned the International Center for High Performance Computing as an open platform for collective use, which will reveal the innovative potential of the company and its partners. We believe that the Center will help to achieve mutually beneficial results, as well as accelerate the development of high-performance computing technologies and the industry as a whole ", - said Tian Linyi(Tian Linyi), head of the Open Lab Huawei Enterprise Business Group in Munich.
This year, the key topic of the presentation was the disclosure of Huawei high-performance computing capabilities and support cloud based on them ( «Unleash HPC Potential, Enable HPC Cloud»). Demonstrate the HPC-based solutions of its newest servers and storage systems in place, Huawei has also featured online used their collective research cloudy (R & D Cloud) solution focused on computer modeling scenarios. Moreover, Huawei introduced cloudy solution based on high-performance computing (HPC Cloud) with high data transmission speed of 100 GB in network InfiniBand (IB). It has been successfully implemented on an open cloud platform Open Telekom Cloud of Deutsche Telekom and began providing the service.
During the conference, a new list of five hundred leading systems based on high-performance computing has been published (HPC TOP500). It includes twenty-HPC-systems created by Huawei.
