This may work, but I'm not a Mac user and this article doesn't have a date, so I don't know what Mac releases it applies to.

How to Turn Off Auto Program Startup on a Mac

smallbusiness.chron.com

Apple computers include a function allowing you to manage which programs automatically load upon startup. This comes in handy when you want frequently used applications to open whenever you log in, potentially saving you and your employees time in the long run for your business. There is, however, a downside to having programs starting up when you turn on your computer: slow down. If you want to speed up your Mac's startup time and prevent unnecessary applications from opening, disable unwanted programs from automatically loading.

1. Click the "Apple" in the menu bar.

2. Click the "System Preferences" option to open this window.

3. Click "Users and Groups."

4. Click your account in the pane.

5. Click the "Login Items" button.

6. Click an unwanted program from the "Item" list and then click the "-" button. Repeat this step to remove additional programs from the startup list.

7. Close the window when you are done removing programs.

Good Luck,

Josh
