LAS VEGAS (Dow Jones)--Hitachi Home Electronics (America) Inc., a unit of Hitachi America Ltd., unveiled its consumer electronics product line at the Winter Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
In a press release Wednesday, the company said it is demonstrating its 61-inch UltraVision high-definition TV and a 36-inch digital-ready TV at the conference.
Hitachi Home Electronics said the high-definition TV features an Ultrafocus lens system, Magic Focus auto digital convergence and a digital 3DYC comb filter.
The digital-ready TV, which is schedul be shipped in the third quarter, features an UltraBlack Invar picture tube with .78mm dot pitch, all time progressive scanning and the out-of-box ability to connect to DTV set-top boxes, DVD or DSS and personal computer and game systems through a VGA/SVGA input.
Hitachi Home Electronics is also exhibiting two DVD players, a handheld personal-computer product, an MPEG digital camera and 25-inch and 41-inch XGA color plasma displays at the show.
The DVD players will be shipped in the third quarter 1998. Additional information about expected shipping dates for the other Hitachi products was not immediately available.
Hitachi Home Electronics' Ultravision digital-VHS VCR with a compatible DSS system on a 60-inch projection TV is also on display.
