I went back to the Paco Pharmaceutical plant today during day-time hours. I asked for a tour both at security desk and the reception desk. No tours are permitted.
So, from the outside of the building, I observed alot of activity. The was close to 500 cars between the 2 plants. There were about 12 forty-foot containers, and several 16 to 20 foot trucks.
At the larger plant: <1700 Oak>
One forty foot container was labelled : "Builders Transport" Another was labelled "Kaiser Chemicals" There were 2 smaller trucks, about 20 feet long, labelled "Paco Parmaceuticals" and they were leaving the plant site. Another truck, about 16 feet, was labelled "LES Air Transport"
There were also a host of general contractor's on-site: plumber fencing industrial scales electrical fire sprinklers mechanical contractor
I spoke with several people. Three Paco employees, none spoke English.
One of the general contractor. he says they are installing a "new lab." I asked if it was a production line, He said new lab. Not sure if would know the difference. Also said new furniture is also on site. Says they are couple of weeks from completion, and judging by the various contractos on-site, i would say that's a truthful statement.
So, I get back home. I call Paco and ask some questions.
Q: "I understand Paco was closed for a week for maintenance, is the plant now up and running?"
A.: "we were never closed for maintanence"
Hmmmmm.......
Q. "VVUS reported that the plant would be closed for maintanence during this time. Are you sure?"
A,: "VVUS is only one of the companies we contract with." (This makes sense, In the lobby there is a picture on the wall with 50 to 100 products shown,")
Q: "Was the VVUS production line shutdown for maintenance?"
A: "i don't know, i can connect you with VVUS department here at Paco"
So, i get transferred. woman answers the phone. She tells me Chuck Bannerman is the head guy on-site at PACO for VVUS.
I have a voice mail message in for Chuck Bannerman to call me; Also, the new contruction going on is DEFINITELY for VVUS; the woman i got on the phone just now told me this, but wouldn't comment on whether it was a lab or production line under construction; She also confirmed that that production is up and running again post-maintenance, both in the new and old plants, but couldn't tell me if all lines were running.
I also called VVUS IR, for some answers, and left voice mail messages for Nina at IR and Yetnema, the CFO.

P.S. Chuck just called me back, he will not answer any questions; and referred me to IR in california. |
