Copying and/or Moving (TerraCopy) ...

<< Using the drag and drop method I'm seeing about 42 hours to copy 4TB of data >>

Copying all or moving some of those? I use (free) TerraCopy for both (and more) and while the speed advantage (while it exists) is not necessarily significant it's an excellent tool:

TeraCopy 3.1

Website: codesector.com

I use MajorGeeks to download: tr.im

This is MajorGeeks' description: TeraCopy is a compact program designed to copy and move files at the maximum possible speed. It comes packed with many useful features like the ability to copy files faster by dynamically adjusting buffers to reduce the time it takes to seek. Asynchronous copy speeds up file transfer between two physical hard drives. TeraCopy will also permit you to pause and resume file transfers - pause the copy process at any time to free up system resources and continue with a single click. TeraCopy fully integrates with Windows Explorer's right-click menu and can be set as your default copy handler.

Error recovery: In the case of a copy error, TeraCopy will try several times and in the worse case just skips the file, not terminating the entire transfer.

Interactive file list: TeraCopy shows failed file transfers and lets you fix the problem and recopy only problem files.

Shell integration. TeraCopy can completely replace Explorer copy and move functions, allowing you work with files as usual.
