Doug, this is one of my favorite themes. The home network pc will be from Nintendo, Sony, or Sega, IMHO, if it is going to work. Despite all the glory we heap on pcs, and they are pretty fabulous, Nintendo, Play Station, and Game Boy demolish the fastest pc on kiddie games. Nintendo is public listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange. I don't think they have ADRs. But you can buy it by calling Nomura or Daiwa or any Japanese bank. The brokers are less likely to steal your face on commissions than are the banks. Don't buy the retailers. The only one that has been growing is CompUSA, and 6 insiders just sold a ton of that stock. Besides, game players are too small a percentage of their business to have much impact. I think there is great potential in these three companies. Sony is a no go, because it is just too danged big for computers or game players to move it. Nintendo or Sega may be a good buy, though neither is cheap. Electronic Arts is the best play, IMHO, though it just set a new high and is selling at 51 times eps. Like good gun runners, they will supply the weapons to all of the players and not care who wins the war. But I have just sold 2/3 of my position, as I think everyone is too optimistic right now. Buy on dips. MB
