Seagate stated back in December: "The plant closure is scheduled to take place when the current product build schedule is completed in early 1998."

Perhaps the build schedule is now complete. (or, (highly unlikely) maybe they changed their minds).

Still a rumor at this point, and I agree, this doesn't seem to justify a stop in trading.
