Northland Capital PhotonStar LED Group PLC ( LON:PSL) located across 24 UK cities

Some 50,000 devices will be installed and there will be a process to survey the requirements of the accommodation group’s sites, which are located across 24 UK cities

Installations are due to take place in the summer months, whilst the accommodation is vacant.

The AIM-listed company said its halcyonPRO2 and CloudBMS systems, which operate intelligent lighting and building controls, has been trialled by a UK based student accommodation group for nine months (from July 2016) across a total of 167 rooms at one site.

Now, according to the letter of intent, some 50,000 devices will be installed and there will be a process to survey the requirements of the accommodation group’s sites, which are located across 24 UK cities.

In a note to clients, analysts at ‘house’ broker Northland Capital said: “This is a significant initial indication of demand for PhotonStar’s intelligent lighting and building management solution, and validation of practical management and cost reducing attributes, with indications of the potential for expanded deployment.”

Installations are due to take place in the summer months, whilst the accommodation is vacant.

According to PhotonStar, cloud based monitoring will reduce operational costs compared to the ‘traditional’ approach based on engineer site visit.

The company noted that the roll-out to each site will see separate purchase orders rather than a single formal contract covering all the installations.

“The site by site installation of halcyon is expected to take approximately 18 months and we are excited at the opportunity to evaluate other cost saving opportunities that exist for the customer,” Dr James McKenzie, PhotonStar chief executive.

“I look forward to providing our shareholders with further updates in due course."
